1. Emergency Medical Information
All students must provide emergency medical and contact information to CIA. This will allow staff to assist your student in the event they become sick, have an emergency, or need someone contacted on their behalf. The deadline to complete this form is Sunday, August 20, 2017.
2. Housing Information & Forms
Once your student has deposited for housing, we ask that your student move on to the next step, which is completing all online housing forms. Each online forms has a specific due date. To review more information about Housing at CIA, please visit the Housing section of the CIA website.
Move In Information: Your student should have received their housing placement in the mail. Included in their housing placement letter is information about scheduling their move in time and information about Move In Day on Thursday, August 24. 3. Disability Services Registration
Does your student have a disability? Is it a learning disability, such as dyslexia, A.D.H.D., or an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Is it a physical disability that may require accommodation? Does your student have a mental health diagnosis such as Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, or PTSD? If you answered yes to any of these questions, your student needs to complete the Disability Services Registration Form on my.cia.edu. More information about Disability Services can be found here.
4. Email and User Account Setup
Your student will need to set up their CIA email. Your student must setup their CIA email account as CIA uses email as their official form of communication. If you student is having trouble setting up their email, please have them contact email@example.com.
5. Orientation Registration
Fall Orientation is a mandatory two program that takes place in August before classes begin. Orientation will help your student adjust to college life and embark on the road to a profession in art and design. Orientation runs from the morning of Friday, August 25 through the evening of Saturday, August 27. All new students to CIA, including transfer students and non-traditional students are encouraged to attend all parts of Orientation. Click here for more information about Orientation.
6. Submit All Financial Aid Documents
Be sure your student's financial aid file is complete and that they have submitted all required financial aid documents. Financial aid cannot be disbursed (credited) to your student's account until all financial aid documents have been received by the Office of Financial Aid. 7. Understanding Your Student Account Bill
The Business Office has provided your student with an overview of how to understand their tuition statement and how to pay their bill online through my.cia.edu. To review more information about paying for your student's education, please visit this website.
8. Foundation Resources
The first-year supply list is available here. Students may purchase supplies on their own or pre-order one of the kits from one of the local art stores. All of this information can be found under the Foundation Resources tab under your student's Checklist on my.cia.edu/start or here. Please note: the Supply Kits provided by Blick and Prizm do not fill all the requirements on the supply list. Items such as textbooks and other miscellaneous supplies. Please read the complete supply list carefully.
9. Understanding Your Class Schedule
The Office of the Registrar has provided your student with two videos to help them better understand their schedule in the Fall. Students will receive their schedule in early August after their tuition payment plan has been finalized. If you have questions about schedules and transfer credits, please contact the Office of the Registrar directly.
10. Submit Your CIA ID Photo
The deadline for you student to submit their ID photo has passed. Your student will receive their CIA ID Card at Move In or Orientation. If they did not submit a photo then they will have to visit Access Services at Case Western Reserve University after Orientation to get their CIA ID.
