The Career Center of CIA is dedicated to providing students and alumni with the necessary tools, resources, and strategies that will assist them in identifying and obtaining their personal career goals.  We are located in the Student Affairs office on the first floor.  
 
Hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 4:30 pm. Located on the first floor room 120 in the Student Affairs Division. 
 
Current students are pre-registered! If you haven't activated your account, click the link above and select 'Activate your account!' on the login page. To get started, you will enter your Student ID number as your User ID and enter your CIA email.

Career Services Presentation Request 

Faculty, Staff, and Student Groups who would like to request a presentation, workshop, or training from Career Services, please complete this request form. We ask that you submit this request at a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your desired event date. 
 

Services offered include:

  • One-on-one career advising
  • Assistance with resume and cover letter writing
  • Assistance with finding and applying to Federal Work Study Opportunities
  • Guidance on job search strategies, networking and interview techniques
  • Connections to Alumni for career exploration and information
  • Assistance in obtaining a credit or non-credit bearing internship
  • Support for Creativity Works, a self-initiated, entrepreneurial internship program for Visual Art and Craft majors
  • Assistance with preparation for Career and Graduate School Fair
  • Assistance with graduate school applications
  • Lifelong access to services to assist in career transition 
  • Access to College Central, a comprehensive job board for CIA students and alumni
  • The ability to post your resume/portfolio to College Central where approved employers can see it

College Central is CIA's career management platform and primary employer database that allows students and alumni to search for opportunities exclusively shared with CIA. It also serves as a resource to connect students and graduates with other alumni who opted-in to joining the Career Mentoring Network featured on the job seeker dashboard. Current students are pre-registered for an account and will need to activate their account to gain full access to the site. 

GoinGlobal is an exceptional resource that provides career and employment information to assist you in your job or internship search. The database features:

38 Country Specific Career Guides and 53 City Career Guides for the United States and Canada, corporate profiles ,and more than 16 million internship and job listings within the USA and around the world.

Both the Going Global Country Career Guides and the City Career Guides provide professional advice and insider tips.

Already in a Credit-Bearing Internship?

Make sure you are keeping track of your hours! Download and use this paper time log document as you are responsible for submitting your completed internship hours. For an example of what a completed paper time log should look like, View the example Time Log.  Be sure to add your totals and have your supervisor initial every entry and sign at the bottom.

During your internship, make sure you're thinking ahead about how you will describe this experience in your resume as well as the topics you will need to cover in your reflection paper.
