The Career Center is dedicated to providing students and alumni with the necessary tools, resources, and strategies that will assist them in identifying and obtaining their personal career goals. The Career Center is located in Suite 120 (first floor) under the Student Affairs Division. We are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Services offered include:

  • One-on-one career advising on topics including: career exploration, professionalism, job and internship search strategies, networking strategies, interviewing techniques, graduate school applications, and more!
  • Appointments with Peer Advisors, a team of students trained in providing feedback on Resumes, CV's, and cover letters.
  • Access to College Central, a comprehensive job board for CIA students and alumni.
  • Guidance in finding and applying to on-campus opportunities, including Federal Work Study opportunities.
  • Opportunities to network with employers through the semesterly Career + Graduate School Fair, info-sessions, employer visits, and tabling.
  • Professional development workshops, events, and access to the Professional Closet, a free resource where students can find professional clothing.
  • Assistance in finding and pursuing a credit or non-credit bearing internship.
  • Support for Creativity Works, a self-initiated, entrepreneurial internship program for Visual Art and Craft majors.
  • Connections to Alumni for career exploration, mentorship, and informational interviews.
  • Lifelong access to services to assist in career transition.

Schedule an Appointment
Drop-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly preferred. To schedule a one-on-one Career Advising Appointment or Resume Review, log onto College Central and navigate to the 'Appointments' tab. 
 
Activate your College Central Account!
All current students are pre-registered for a College Central account! If you haven't activated your account, click the link above and select 'Activate your account!' on the login page. To get started, you will enter your Student ID number (6 digit number found on your student account) as your User ID and enter your CIA email. 
 
Collaborate with us!

Looking for the Career Center to present on a career-related topic at in your next class or team meeting? Faculty, Staff, and Student Groups can request a presentation, workshop, or training from Career Services. Please complete this form to inquire about available times and topics of interest. We ask that you notify us at a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your desired event date. Questions regarding presentations or workshops can be directed to Cassidy at cmwagner@cia.edu.

College Central is CIA's career management platform and primary employer database that allows students and alumni to search for opportunities exclusively shared with CIA. It also serves as a resource to connect students and graduates with other alumni who opted-in to joining the Career Mentoring Network featured on the job seeker dashboard. Current students are pre-registered for an account and will need to activate their account to gain full access to the site. 

 

 

Parker Dewey is a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing equitable access to professional opportunities. Students from all majors can execute professional assignments to build and demonstrate skills while exploring a variety of career paths. 

To get started create your account and begin searching for micro-internships. Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns.

Schedule an appointment with Career Services, meet with your Academic Advisor, or talk to your faculty to help you determine if earning credit is the right option for you.

Credit for an internship cannot be rewarded retroactively, no exceptions. Connect with Career Services as soon as you land an internship!
